Tips On Your Next Move

Tips On Your Next MoveBe prepared on settlement day

If circumstances permit, it is advisable to move out a few days prior to settlement. This will allow plenty of time to arrange a cleaner and transfer of amenities to your new address.
Be sure to book a removalist well in advance. It is also advisable to request a number of quotes prior to choosing a removalist. Some will work by the hour and charge from when they leave their depot to when they return, others may be happy to offer you a flat rate for the entire move. It definitely pays to shop around.
Refer back to your contract of sale, you must not remove anything marked as an inclusion, while exclusions must be removed even if you do not want to take them with you to your new home.
The buyer will most likely request a pre-settlement inspection on the morning of settlement. This is to ensure they are receiving the property in the same condition as when they first viewed it. If the property has been damaged in any way, the buyer has the right to delay settlement and request that repairs be made. As a general rule, leave the property clean and tidy and in the same condition you would like to find it.
